DC: Georgetown Sunset Cinema and Potluck Picnic (8/2)

Screen Shot 2016-06-30 at 10.21.13 PM
Join us at the beautiful Georgetown Waterfront for a potluck picnic and free film. The Georgetown Sunset Cinema is screening movies to commemorate the Park Service’s 100thanniversary, which is this year.

All the films are set in National Parks, and the last in the series is Into the Wild, which takes place in Denali National Park.  (See the list of the rest of the films, as well as general information about the film series, here.)  Based on Jon Krakauer’s book of the same name, Into the Wild tells the story of Christopher McCandless, who decided to explore the Alaskan wilderness in the summer of 1992.

The film begins around 8:30pm.  We’ll all want to be gathered earlier so we can get comfortable viewing spots, so we will meet at 7:00pm for food and conversation.  (In addition to the snacks we’re bringing, there will be several food vendors available; the cinema website has details.)  Look for us at the yardsign with the YBG and Yale logos.  You can RSVP here and let us know your potluck contribution here.
