Our Chapter
Yale Blue Green’s San Francisco chapter has been active since 2018. The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of Yale Blue Green recently re-launched its work to advance the YBG mission. We developed plans for in-person events focused on service, education, and networking. We are glad for all who have joined our events and hope you will participate in those coming up. We would love to hear from you and your suggestions about the YBG SF Bay Area Chapter, including whether you would like to take on a role leading our YBG activities. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the leadership team, please email the co-chairs to express your interest and to receive notifications about events.

Upcoming Events
YBG – SF Events Planned for 2026
We are delighted to announce the following events that are being planned in the fourth year of the Yale Blue Green SF Bay Area Chapter renewal. Please mark your calendars now. We hope to see you at the upcoming events.

Hello fellow Yalies,
For those of you who joined us for Yale Day of Service, thank you! We appreciate your enthusiasm for community service and hope you had a great time.
We have a new upcoming volunteer project at Yosemite National Park: a campground cleanup at Yellow Pine.
The project is scheduled for Saturday, June 13. We will have a campsite for Friday, June 12, through Sunday, June 14.
More details to come (e.g. campsite number, gate pass, etc.) but for now, the Park will provide:
- A National Park Service work leader
- All project supplies, safety equipment, and instruction needed
- They will send a gate pass for free entry into the park and arrange campsites (but not camping gear).
- There is no charge to participate in NPS projects.
Campground Cleanup description:
With over 1,400 campsites in Yosemite in use nearly every night from April through October, a lot of ash gets
produced in all those fire rings, trash gets left behind, picnic tables and signs get worn out, bear boxes get dirty,
and much more! Work for this project will be determined on a day-to-day basis. Volunteers may be asked to
assist in cleaning out campground and picnic area fire pits and grills, as well as other general campground
cleanup work. Depending on park needs, a volunteer group may be asked to drive to different parks of Yosemite
which may or may not be near your assigned campsite.
If you’d like to join or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!
