Yale Blue Green encourages everyone to vote and to learn about the candidates seeking to represent them.
YBG is nonpartisan and does not endorse candidates. Our goal is to help members find reliable information about candidates’ environmental records and positions, understand environmental issues relevant to their communities, and ask informed questions about what candidates would do if elected.
The Environmental Voter Project estimates that more than 13 million environmentalists typically skip midterm elections. These are people who rank the environment as a top priority, and they’re already registered. Overall, only about 46% of eligible voters cast a ballot that year.
Think about what that means. Thirteen million people who already care, are already registered, and are already on our side. That’s the biggest untapped force in the climate movement.
All we have to do is show up.
