Yale Blue Green Strategic Plan

In the summer of 2023, the YBG board prepared a strategic plan to help guide the growth of the organization over the next three years.  Centering our work in Yale’s mission, the board approved the YBG mission and vision statements to help focus communication.  In spring 2025, the YBG board reaffirmed the vision and mission and established new annual goals and objectives, with a plan to develop three-year goals later in the year that are SMART– strategic, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound.

In creating our Plan, we have prepared goals and objectives for each of our standing committees that include: Executive, Chapters, Communications, Outreach, Program, and Sustainability Initiative Liaison (SILC).  In each committee our goals are framed as actions for our Annual Plan, and each has specific objectives to achieve those goals.  Building on this work, we will create by the end of the year a Strategic Plan with more specific actions to implement their goals and objectives over a three-year period.  These goals shape the ongoing work of the YBG board, and each committee provides an annual report on its accomplishments.  We hope the regular process of goal setting, assessment and planning will enable Yale Blue Green to achieve its vision “to harness the power of the Yale community to bring about meaningful change in global sustainability and create a more just and equitable world.”
